Taking A Break
We all work so hard, to pay bills, to put food on our tables, to support our families. Sometimes we just need to get away from all this madness that is life. I think that it is so important to give ourselves time to recharge.
Being a mom, I am always needed. I’m constantly cleaning the house, grocery shopping, helping with homework, finding a lost jacket or playing with barbie dolls. Trust me, I love being a mom and I wouldn’t trade it for anything, but sometimes I just need to step away. I know for some moms going to Target without the kids can be like heaven on Earth! For me, I love getting away for a couple of days. I try to do this at least twice a year, budget permitting of course.
Last weekend I took a trip to LA. This was my time to getaway and to recharge. I also wanted to see my best friend Jimmy! We always have so much fun whenever we hang out! We ate a lot of yummy food, I got my tattoo finished, we went to Disneyland and we even went to the Conan O’Brien taping! Last weekend was definitely one for the books!
On this trip we got to eat at some of our favorite restaurants. One of them was Din Tai Fung. Their dumplings are so good! We ordered the shrimp & pork wontons in spicy sauce, shrimp & pork dumplings, pork & crab soup dumplings and pork chop fried rice. Everything was so good!!
Another favorite restaurant of ours is Bao Dim Sum House. We ordered har gow (shrimp dumpling), crispy crab & shrimp balls, pork & shrimp shui mai, shrimp fried rice, spinach and mushroom dumplings and Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce. My favorite was the har gow and crispy crab & shrimp balls, but everything was so good!
And of course the best part of my trip was Disneyland! We originally had planned on visiting the parks for only one day, but we ended up going for two days! I was so happy! The park was so crowded on Saturday and I was so cold, so we ended up leaving early. That night we had dinner at another favorite, Panini Cafe. I ordered a tuna melt and it was so good! It came with chicken soup and OMG the soup was so good! It was filled with potatoes, carrots and celery. It was perfect for a cold night!

Disneyland was nice and empty on Sunday. And this time I was dressed for the cold weather. Here are some pics from both days at Disneyland.
Before heading home, Jimmy took me to a taping of the Conan O’Brien show. It was my first time at a taping. The guests were Adam Scott, Genesis Rodriguez and The Vamps. I was so happy to see Adam Scott because Parks & Rec is one of my favorite shows! I had so much fun! Thanks for taking me Jimmy!
It’s so important to love ourselves, treat ourselves and give ourselves the time we need to recharge! No one wants to be grumpy and overworked! So take time to treat yourself! I love you guys and I hope you enjoyed my very first blog post!
